Spalding High School student Leila Kay Hawley has bid farewell to her long blonde locks – again.
It is the second time the generous 11-year-old has donated hair for other children undergoing treatment for a range of illnesses, including cancer.
The Little Princess Trust takes hair donations and makes them into wigs for poorly children and Leila has also raised more than £1,700 which will pay for two wigs to be created specially.
Leila, of Holbeach, first donated three years ago when she also raised more than £800 for the charity in memory of her grandmother Wanda Kay, who lived in America.
She held a fundraising weekend at Weston Village Hall for a Halloween event when she had 15 inches of her long hair cut.
The party raised £170 and a further £1,000 was raised through a 24-hour live stream on social media platform Twitch.
She spoke about the Little Princess Trust and more than 40 per cent of the donations came from America.
“We were overwhelmed by the messages online and the amazing support we have had from the local community, people we never knew before and anonymous donors,” said mum Niki.
There will also be a festive fundraiser and details will follow later.
