Personal best time puts Barrett in Peterborough top four

A personal best time of 18mins 46 secs earned Halmer Harriers runner Stephen Barrett fourth place at the Peterborough Running Festival 5K.

Jayne Pell’s 35:00 time earned her second place in the female V55 category, while in the 10K, Annette Gudgeon was second female V65 runner in 1:01:49.

In the half-marathon, Tim Ulyatt was 23rd of the 259 finishers in 1:37:20.

A day earlier at the Snowden Field parkrun, 11 of the 37 finishers were first timers to the Crowland course.

First to finish the 5K course was Werrington Joggers’ Mark McCarthy in 20:22. The highest placed Halmer Harrier was Richard Williams, eighth in 24:52.

Further afield at the western end of the Mediterranean, Scott Burrell was first to finish at the Gibraltar Botanical Gardens parkrun in 18:29.
