A gr-eight night for Knights

An eighth match without defeat saw Pinchbeck United climb up into the United Counties League Division One play-off places, just four points adrift of the divisional leaders.
It came courtesy of second-half goals from JJ Ward and Elliot Foster to secure a 2-0 win against Holwell Sports on Tuesday, after the Knights had a day off on Saturday.
Ward struck from the penalty spot after 50 minutes and substitute Foster doubled the advantage 17 minutes before the end.
More good news for manager Lewis Thorogood came with a late appearance off the bench for Zeren Akyüz after a long-term injury.
Knights: Martin, Stevens, Balding, Melson, Sherrif, Brooks, Panton, Shinn, Slater, Cullen, Ward. Subs: Foster, Howlett, Callaby, Akyüz, Douce.
Attendance: 50.
The Knights are in action twice in the next week. On Saturday they travel to Pinxton before facing their toughest challenge of the season with a trip to early leaders Retford United on Wednesday.
