Tributes to retired doctor

A former doctor at Moulton Medical Centre has died in circumstances that police are investigating.

Dr Richard Thorpe was found with serious injuries at his home in Kirkby on Bain on Saturday, October 24 but died a week later.

The medical centre issued a statement following the 72-year-old’s death.

“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of retired GP partner of Moulton Medical Centre, Dr Richard Thorpe.

“He served our community for many years and he will have been known to a number of generations of our patients.

“There is a book of condolences in the main reception area of the surgery for any staff or patients who would like to write a message and we will pass this on to his family.

“Our thoughts are with them at this sad time.”

A statement from De Thorpe’s family issued by Lincolnshire Police thanked people for their messages of condolences.

It says: “Richard was well loved and respected and his loss will be felt profoundly by his family and friends.”
