All change as Dean runs rule over squad

Travel plans for the new Southern League season can be started on Friday when the fixture list is due to be released.

Spalding United will hear at 1pm who they will face in their opening Premier Central Division match.

A summer-long recruitment campaign has seen many new faces heading to the Sir Halley Stewart Field, which itself has undergone a makeover following the installation of an artificial surface.

Fans have had two chances to see the new players in action with a 1-0 defeat at Bourne Town on Saturday followed by a 1-0 victory at Lincoln United on Tuesday.

A long free kick was headed down and the ball prodded home at the far post for the only goal of the game at Bourne in the second half.

Manager Jimmy Dean gave plenty of time to his full squad, making nine substitutions at half time.
Tuesday’s starting line-up saw only five of Saturday’s starters in the line-up as Dean rotated his squad.

Goalkeeper Aaron Chapman, was joined by new signing from Kettering Ben Hart, Liam Moore, Dion Sembie Ferris and last season’s Hereford top scorer Yusifu Ceesay.

After another goalless first half, veteran striker James Clifton struck the winner after 83 minutes.
