Home start to season for Holbeach

Holbeach United will start the Eastern Counties League Division One season at home to Needham Market Reserves on Saturday, July 26.

The fixtures have been released for the first week of the campaign and see the Tigers at Parson Drove on Wednesday, July 30, with a trip to Long Melford on Saturday, August 2.

In the FA Vase, Holbeach have been drawn at home to Kirby Muxloe in the first qualifying round on August 23.

They are also at home in the second round of the League Cup, having been paired with Parson Drove, after both teams received first round byes. The date is to be arranged.

Holbeach were under interim manager Callum Lawe for a short-notice friendly against Crowland Town on the Kings Academy 3G on Saturday. They chalked up a 3-1 win, thanks to a Harry Winks double and one from Jordan Gout.

Tuesday saw a trip to Wisbech St Mary, where the hosts emerged 2-1 victors.

The Tigers’ other warm-up fixtures are at Histon on Saturday and at home to Lincolnshire League side Wyberton next Tuesday.
