On Saturday, Spalding Indoor Bowls Club travelled to Boston in their latest friendly.
This was a highly contested match which went to the wire, Spalding winning by seven shots, 107-100.
Top winning rink was skipped by Alan Tokley, with Gill Haydon and Derek Chamberlain who won 36-7.
qOn Thursday, Spalding Indoor Bowls Club hosted Boston “A” in their latest fixture in the men’s over 60 county league south division.
The away team proved too strong on the day as they won on three rinks and the aggregate by seven shots (68-75).
Spalding did manage one winning rink which was skipped by Martin Simpson, with Eric Wakefield, Ian Stafford and Terry Windsor who won 24-11.

qAnnie Dunham and Dominic McVittie were local qualifiers in the national mixed pairs finals at City and County of Bristol Indoor Bowls Club.
In the last 16, they had a comfortable 20-5 win against Jackie Stewart-Tallack and David Bolt from South Shields Vipers.
In the quarter final, Dunham and McVittie had to overturn an 11-5 deficit against England international pairing Chloe Brett and Lewis Baker from Huntingdon. They picked up a count of six shots to take the lead for the first time at 17-12 and finished strongly to win 23-13.
Their semi-final opponents were England ladies’ captain Sandy Hazell and Isaac Jenner, from Swale. Dunham and McVittie led from the outset as they won 18-5.
In the final, they played Alice Phillimore and Martin Heitzman, from Falaise.
McVittie knows Heitzman well as they play in the same England international rink.
The final was played at a very high quality by all four players.
Dunham and McVittie were always in control of the final and they ran out 15-5 winners and added their names to the history book as they won the national mixed pairs title for the first time.
