A Spalding man who faces a possible jail sentence after he was caught with a personal stash of cannabis has been told to get help by a judge.
Recorder Adrian Reynolds told Thomas Parr, 28, that “he was in peril of going to prison” when he appeared before him at Lincoln Crown Court.
Parr was arrested after police found 206g of cannabis at his Spalding flat on the afternoon of April 26.
The court heard officers attended the property at The Meadows, where they found Parr and the drugs.
Quantities of cannabis were discovered in the kitchen, as well as in shoeboxes and bags.
During his police interview Parr said the cannabis was for his own personal use.
He admitted using the drug, saying he smoked it to relieve back pain and help deal with anxiety.
Parr pleaded guilty to possessing the Class B drug when he appeared before Lincoln Crown Court earlier this year.
The guilty plea left him in breach of a 20 month suspended prison sentence imposed by the same court in June 2025.
Sentence was adjourned until August 14 for the preparation of a Probation report on Parr.
But defence barrister Neil Sands asked for a further adjournment after the telling the court that Parr had become agitated during his interview with the Probation Service.
Mr Sands said concerns had been raised about Parr’s mental health and asked for a further report on him from the Liaison and Diversion team.
Recorder Reynolds agreed to the request but warned Parr that his behaviour towards the Probation Service was “unacceptable.”
“These people are here to try and help you,” Recorder Reynolds explained to Parr.
“You stand in peril of going to prison because you have breached your suspended sentence.
“So try and help yourself.”
Parr was granted unconditional bail until September 4 when he will be sentenced at Lincoln Crown Court.
