Police have searched two Spalding properties this week as part of a murder investigation relating to a man from Leicester last seen alive in April 2024.
Both the derelict former Royal Mail depot on Spring Gardens and a property on Holbeach Road were searched on Tuesday August 18.
Leicestershire Police say it was in relation to ongoing enquiries into the death of 60-year-old Gary Piatek whose body has not been found.
Eight people from Leicester, Bournemouth, Birmingham and London are currently charged in connection with his death. Two of those are charged with his murder.
A Leicestershire Police spokesman said that no new arrests had been made as a result of the searches in Spalding.
They continued: “A warrant was executed at a house in Broad Avenue, Leicester, in February this year. This was following the last proof of life of Mr Piatek in April 2024.
“The investigation included extensive searches carried out over a number of weeks, including ground penetrating radar and ground-breaking equipment.
“Mr Piatek’s body has never been found.”
Police only named Mr Piatek as the man they were searching for in February this year.
A spokesman at the time said specialist support was provided to his close friends.
