Young Farmers getting festive

Living in the heart of rural Lincolnshire, there can only be one way for Santa to arrive – by tractor.

The Spalding and District Young Farmers organised a festive run on Sunday, and almost 100 vehicles took to the roads across South Holland.
The Christmas road run was organised by club chairman Michael Sullivan, vice chairman Russell Newell and the management committee of the club.
The convoy was led by club president James Needham and his family. It left Decoy Farm, Cowbit and headed through villages including Weston Hills, Moulton Chapel, Whaplode and Holbeach town. The group stopped for refreshments at The Swan, Moulton.
The best decorated tractor was judged by South Holland District Council chairman Andrew Woolf, and was a vehicle owned by Worth Farms and driven by Peter Bowd with his partner Imogen. They received a shield, newly introduced this year, and a gift hamper.
The event has raised £2,488 for Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance, Lincolnshire Rural Support and the young farmers. Donations can also be made via a Just Giving page until Sunday (December 17).
