Youngsters will bring Hunchback to life

ACT II’s Pint-Sized Players are taking to the stage with an adaptation of The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

The performance is an adaptation of the novel specially designed to be performed by a young cast (aged six to 11).
Victor Hugo’s seminal novel is being performed against the backdrops of the magnificent Crowland Abbey and St Mary and St Nicolas Church, Spalding.

The tragic and fated story of La Esmerelda, Archdeacon Frollo, Captain Phoebus and, of course, Quasimodo is a dramatic, yet sensitive and romantic tale.

Karl Gernert, director of ACT II Theatre Company, said: “This is the first time the Pint-Sized Players have been able to perform in person since before the Covid-19 pandemic so we are really looking forward to getting them out into the community and letting them do what they do best!”

The show takes place tonight (Thursday, November 11) at 7pm in Spalding and on Saturday at 7pm at Crowland. Doors open at 6.30pm.

Tickets, priced at £6, are available on the door or can be booked in advance by emailing [email protected]
