A Spalding man who failed to attend court after he was found with a stash of cannabis has been jailed for 22 months.
Thomas Parr, 28, appeared before Recorder Graham Huston after a warrant was issued for his arrest earlier this month.
Lincoln Crown Court heard Parr failed to attend his sentence hearing on September 4 after claiming he was too ill and could not travel.
Parr was arrested after police found 206g of cannabis at his Spalding flat on the afternoon of 26 April.
The court heard officers attended the property at The Meadows, where they found Parr and the drugs.
Quantities of cannabis were discovered in the kitchen, as well as in shoeboxes and bags.
During his police interview Parr said the cannabis was for his own personal use.
He admitted using the drug, saying he smoked it to relieve back pain and help deal with anixiety.
Parr pleaded guilty to possessing the Class B drug when he appeared before Lincoln Crown Court earlier this year.
The guilty plea left him in breach of a 20 month suspended prison sentence imposed by the same court in June 2025.
Sentence had been adjourned until September 4 for the preparation of probation and mental health reports on Parr.
But Parr failed to attend court despite being informed of the date by his solicitor and a mental health liaison worker.
Parr was jailed for 22 months.
Passing sentence Recorder Graham Huston said Parr had run out of chances.
“He was already given the greatest benefit of the doubt when he received a suspended sentence,” Recorder Huston explained.
