Young cyclist injured in hit and run

A young cyclist suffered a head injury in a hit and run in Spalding on Tuesday night.

The incident happened at the Holbeach Road roundabout, near McDonald’s.

A Lincolnshire Police spokesman said: “Officers were called to the incident at 7.20pm on Tuesday (Oct 11).

“The cyclist – a young boy – sustained a head injury in the collision and was taken to hospital for treatment.

“Eyewitnesses say a grey Peugeot car was involved and was seen driving around the roundabout before heading northbound towards Boston.

“We are appealing for information and are asking anyone who saw the vehicle before or after the collision to get in touch.”
