Worth is remembered

The Services Club in Spalding played host to a spirited afternoon of darts and remembrance as players and supporters gathered for the inaugural Mick Worth Memorial Trophy.

The event was established to honour Mick Worth, a beloved figure in the local darts community and long-time captain of the Services Club A team.

Known for his unwavering dedication and passion for the sport, Mick was a cornerstone of the club for many years, and his legacy was fondly remembered throughout the day.

After a series of closely contested matches between a high calibre of players, Connor MacKenzie emerged victorious, defeating Scott Church in a thrilling final.

Tony Clark and Ady Smith were the beaten semi-finalists.

Event organiser John MacKenzie expressed his gratitude to all who participated and supported the event, extending special thanks to Acker Kelk for presenting the prizes and to Ian Tilley for his role as scorer in the final.

Plans are being laid to make the Mick Worth Memorial Trophy an annual fixture.
