Jail for ‘dangerous’ stalker

A man who stalked a woman using numerous mobile phones and fake social media accounts has been jailed for two-and-a-half years.

Richard Dale of Pinchbeck Road in Spalding had pleaded guilty to stalking without fear of violence before he appeared at Lincoln Crown Court last Friday, March 6.

The 40-year-old had also admitted to breaching a stalking prevention order, which had previously been imposed after he targeted a different woman.

The court heard Dale used numerous different contact numbers, both private and withheld phone numbers and created fake accounts on social media to contact his latest victim.

His behaviour took place throughout 2025, and he was eventually arrested on October 30 last year and was remanded until he appeared in court.

Officers seized his phones which, along with work from the Communications Data Investigation Unit, helped prove the claims being made against him.

Dale was sentenced to 30 months in jail, though he has already served four months on remand.

PC Hannah Edwards, who led, the investigation, called Dale a ‘dangerous man’ and praised his victim for their bravery.

She said: “Dale engaged in a campaign of stalking and harassment, bombarding his victim with communication through a variety of different devices.

“No one should feel like they need to look over their shoulder as they walk down the street, or worse feel anxious inside their own home.

“Dale’s actions had a massive impact, and his behaviour is completely unacceptable.

“I’d like to pay tribute to the victim at the heart of this investigation, for their courage and cooperation with the police.

“And finally, this was a team effort, involving people from across the force. The Communications Data Investigation Unit was particularly helpful.”
