Who are your young achievers?

Multiple award winning independent family run optometrists Molsom and Associates are on the look out for South Holland’s young role models.

The company is involved in the Pride of South Holland Awards for the sixth year running and is sponsoring the Young Achiever category.

It recognises those young people in the community who have excelled, be it in school, sport, business or working on community projects.

The judges will be looking for young people who are a role model in the local community.

They include Mollie Briggs who picked up the award for her volunteering last time out.
Molsom’s have been visiting schools educating children and teachers about eyesight since 2008, latterly with the help of MolsomMole.

“We talk to the children about eye examinations, how our eyes work and sun care, sharing interesting eye facts and each child takes home a goody bag of treats,” Andy Molsom said: “Sponsoring the Young Achiever category is the perfect opportunity to broadcast what young people are striving for locally, to benefit themselves and others.

“The enthusiasm, motivation and dedication that these young people show in the nominations is heart-warming, and I feel it is important to recognise and celebrate their hard work and achievements.

“Good eyesight starts when we are young.

“If we can’t see properly before the age of eight, then the nerve pathways to the brain are never laid down to enable us to have good vision. As such it is vitally important to ensure that our children can see and have comfortable vision.”

The Pride of South Holland Awards are back to celebrate all that is good in the district.
On Sunday, March 5, 2023, the organiser, Jan Whitbourn will be handing out recognition to many of those who make the district what it is.
But we need to know who those people are.
There’s a host of categories for you to send your nominations to Jan on 07779 895388, email [email protected] or email [email protected]
Send us as much information about your nominees as you can.
The more we know about their good work in the community the more likely they are to receive a nomination or even win one of the prestigious awards.

The categories are:

  • Caring Neighbour (sponsored by Couns Glynnis Scalese and Peter Coupland).
  • Service with a Smile (sponsored by Coun Elizabeth Sneath).
  • The Young Achiever Award (sponsored by Molsom Optometrists).
  • Senior Citizen (sponsored by Calthrops).
