Wheelie good donations roll in

A group of councillors have come together to buy a wheelchair that will help people with a disability play bowls.

Spalding Indoor Bowls Club have been able to purchase the new equipment thanks to donations by councillors Allan Beal, James Le Sage, Ingrid Sheard, Elizabeth Sneath, Gary Taylor, Laura Eldridge and Jan Whitbourn.
As well as providing access to new players, the new wheelchair will also benefit those with COPD to get up and down the bowls pitch during the games.
Deputy leader of South Holland District Council, Coun Taylor, said: “It was demonstrated to us just how important this new electric wheelchair is for participating in this sports.
“Having mobility issues should not prevent people from taking part in activities which they enjoy and allows them to continue to be active and socialising.”
