UAH pays respects to fallen

University Academy Holbeach observed Remembrance throughout the week beginning November 7.
School Council members volunteered their time, selling poppies at lunchtime, pupils attending art club, worked on a beautiful and poignant display on the pupil reception window and pupils in Years 8 to 11 had themed assemblies during the week.
On Remembrance Day, members of the various local cadet groups were invited to attend school in uniform.
Year 7 and the cadets had a special assembly with the Chamber Choir performing.
There were poems from Year 7 pupils and Year 10 pupil Daniel Almey read one he’d written.
Several members of the school council walked into Holbeach to take part in the Remembrance Service at the War Memorial.
A spokesman for the school said: “It is important to give pupils time to reflect and this was particularly pertinent in our observances of Remembrance.”
