Tulips B are top of the tree at halfway stage

Tulips B are the new leaders of the Spalding and District Snooker League Division One at the halfway stage of the season after they unseated Pyramid D.

Previous leaders Pyramid D were beaten 5-1 at Donington in the round of fixtures before Christmas.

At the same time second placed Tulips B came from behind to see off Services A 4-2.

Services A took a 2-1 lead when Chris Dunmore (O21) edged Joe Garland (O7) 58-54 on the black.

Tulips’ Mark Woodberry (O56) then beat Phil Spencer (O14) 77-67 on the black to level the match before Mark Wilkinson (014) overcame Mike Knight (021) 55-32 for the win.

A break of 52 from Mark Gray (52) was the highlight as Long Sutton A beat Bourne 4-2 to remain third with Bourne also losing 4-2 to Holbeach C in a re-arranged game.

Tulips A stormed up the table to fourth with a 6-0 win over Pyramid F.

Holbeach A beat Pyramid A 5-1 with Colin Dodd (O21) and Mick Ayres (R7) both winning frames on the black for Holbeach.

Pyramid A also lost to second from bottom Boundary B 4-2 in a re-arranged game.

Boundary B were then beaten 4-2 by fourth from bottom Services C, Nigel Cherry (021) Shane Cummins (O14) and Kevin Fitter (O21) winning the last three frames to seal the win.

Mick Johnson (O35) enjoyed breaks of 38 and 23 as his Consti B side beat Holbeach D 5-1.

Neil Reynolds had a break of 30 and 22 clearence and Dan Burt a 31 break as Tulips A beat Donington C 328-258 in the Knock Out Cup.

In Division Two second placed Boundary C stole a march on previously third placed Donington A winning 6-0 which included a 33 clearence by Jim Howe (O42.

Tulips C lost ground on the frontrunners as Services B won three games that went down to the black to gain a 5-1 win including Tim Nash (O28) winning on the final ball with a 22 clearance.

Consti H won 4-2 against Holbeach E with Mark German (O21) amassing 94 points for Consti in his victory.

Holbeach B beat Pyramid C 5-1 and Gosberton A won 4-2 at home over Whittlesey C with Jamie Mumby (scr) and Carl Ward (O7) claiming wins on the black.

Crowland A enjoyed a good 5-1 win over Donington B and Sutton Bridge won 5-1 at Sutton B.

Pyramid B lead Division Three by one point from Bourne B after both won, Pyramid 5-1 winning at Consti J while Bourne were 4-2 winners over Whittlesey B.

Whittlesey A remain in third after they beat Gosberton D 4-2 with Andy Gebbie (R14) amassing 98 points in his win.

Services E beat Pyramid D 4-2 on the final ball of the match, Tanya Peel (scr) sinking the ball against Neil McLean (scr).

Consti D moved up the table as they enjoyed a 6-0 win over Gosberton B while Consti I went down 4-2 at Donington D.
