Tulip Talk with Jan Whitbourn

Tulip Radio’s general knowledge was put to the test last Tuesday night at the Two Lips Appeal quiz night at St Norbert’s Church in Spalding.

Our team was The Spinners and consisted of myself, Chris Carter, Dennis Hannant, Callum Pepper, Harvey Wright, Anthony Atkinson, Connor Sanderson and George Drakard, with this combination of knowledge we were able to finish in a somewhat surprising third place.

Congratulations must go to the wining team The Quads from Quadring.

We had to answer several rounds of questions including TV and film, sport, music, science and technology, plus general knowledge.

During the interval everyone was treated to a fish and chip supper provided by Turners Fish Restaurant and a wonderful array of prizes for the raffle donated by local businesses, plus a book and souvenir miniature cricket bat, signed by England cricket player Matt Prior which was auctioned during the evening for £30.

Two Lips Appeal is an annual fundraising campaign from the Rotary Club of Spalding and Welland who strive to raise money for local charities.

This year’s appeal is supporting PHAB, the NSPCC and Macmillan Cancer Support.

We are sure the Two Lips team would want to thank everyone who attended the quiz as a fantastic £685.50 was raised. So much fun was had by all and a lot of heckling!

Well done to everyone concerned for organising and donating to this well deserved event, roll on next year!
