Tuesday football: Seven-up Pinchbeck batter Bourne, Daniels deliver derby dismay for Tulips

A Lee Beeson hat-trick steered Pinchbeck United to a big 7-0 win at Bourne Town in the Future Lions UCL Knockout Cup on Tuesday night, while Spalding United suffered a 4-0 Evo-Stik NPL Division One East defeat at rivals Stamford.

The ruthless Knights put their Division One opponents to the sword at the Abbey Lawn, with winger Beeson netting his first three goals for the club (49, 82 and pen 88).

Player/boss Ian Dunn got the scoring under way with a header from a Beeson cross on six minutes, before Ollie Maltby doubled the advantage with a tidy finish from a low Beeson delivery just before the half-time break.

Man-of-the-match Beeson then got in on the act with a long-ranger early in the second period, with Josh Smith (75) next to score from distance.

Beeson’s back-post heder made it five, then his clinical penalty completed his hat-trick.

There was time for Smith’s second in the final minute, capping a top derby display from the Knights.

Meanwhile,Stamford took a second-minute lead against Spalding in the derby clash at the Zeeco Stadium when Rob Morgan headed Stan Mugisha’s cross home at the back post.

Although Leon Mettam then rattled the bar with a thumping effort for the Tulips, Joe Burgess’ header (28) from a corner and a sweeping Reece Morris finish (44) gave Graham Drury’s Stamford a 3-0 half-time lead.

Not done there, Mugisha rounded off the rout with number four on the hour mark, sentencing Spalding to their second league loss of the season in the process.

The Tulips are the only side yet to win this season and are in the bottom three ahead of Saturday’s home date with leaders Morpeth Town (3pm).
