Trio benefit from Spalding RFC’s generosity as they donate their old changing rooms

In preparation for starting the construction of their new changing rooms, Spalding Rugby Club have donated their existing units to other sports clubs in South Lincolnshire.

The first unit left Spalding RFC’s Drain Bank North site on Monday and was delivered to Moulton Chapel FC.

Other units have been donated to Spalding United FC and Boston-based Park Utd FC.

“Everything went to plan,” said Spalding Rugby Club chairman John Constable. “We were all helped greatly by AP Crane Hire and Lunns Haulage who both made the whole operation go very smoothly.

“The units were originally used in the 2012 Olympics and have served us well for seven years,” added club treasurer Peter Jullien. “They are in good condition and we were very keen that they could be used again locally for the benefit of other local sports clubs.”

Moulton Chapel chairman Luke Salter said: “Having this unit will enable our grassroots football club to provide better facilities to our players and broaden our provision to include young adults.”

Spalding RFC’s senior training ahead of the new season takes place every Tuesday and Thursday at Drain Bank North (7pm).

New or experienced players are very welcome.
