Top tier champions Tigers A complete a double of sorts at finals night

A host of trophies were dished out as the Grays of Holbeach Spalding and District Winter Darts League came to a close with its finals night last week.

The Spalding Services Club event got under way with Division One winners Tigers A adding the Kelly Foster Cup crown to their coffers by beating Black Swan.

Fisherman’s Arms then claimed the Dick Morgan Memorial Cup by seeing off Abbey Hotel, before Division One runners-up Consti A saw off Rose and Crown in the Supreme Cup finale.

The next final saw the formidable duo of Claire Brookin and Gary Mace bring another title home for Tigers A as they defeated team-mates Lisa Brooks and Duggie McInerney in the Mixed Pairs.

The Triples Champion of Champions trophy went the way of New Saracen’s head C aces Duncan Hunt, Chris Fidler and Simon Hill, who saw off John Charlton, Sharon Barnard and Tonny Cutts (Drayman’s Arms).

The Drayman’s side did get their hands on silverware in the next final, with Charlton and Ann Parker knocking off Kevin Cooper and Daniel Cooper (Old Black Lion) in the Division Two Pairs.

In the Division One Pairs, Consti A’s Scott Williams and Steve Stancer celebrated a victory over the top team of Fidler and Hunt (NSH C).

Then came the Ladies’ final, with Horse and Groom’s Casey Hill edging out Old Black Lion thrower Dawn MacTavish.

There was better news for Old Black Lion in the Captain’s Cup final, with skipper Nick Horspool beating Ian McCreery (Tigers B).

Horspool followed that up by lifting the Division Two Singles title, seeing off Drayman’s Arms man Cutts.

The final trophy settled on the night saw Consti A’s Scott Williams beat Rose and Crown’s James Truman in the Division One Singles final.
