After back-to-back cup victories, Pinchbeck United now return to the bread and butter of the Uhlsport UCL Premier Division on Saturday as they visit Kimberley Miners Welfare (3pm).
Knights boss Lewis Thorogood has urged his charges to re-focus on the league and wants to push his side as far away from the lower reaches of the table as possible.
Pinchbeck come into the game after impressive wins against Selston (5-0), Deeping Rangers (3-0) and Potton United (2-1) and are looking a much greater threat than the side that finished in the bottom two under Thorogood last season.
“It’s important that we focus on the league again,” said Thorogood. “For many, we’re still the Pinchbeck side that finished in the bottom two last season and only got off relegation on an FA ruling.
“We want to distance ourselves from that and show that we belong in this league on merit.
“The season has gone very well so far, but Kimberley will be a tough game.
“I’m expecting a stiff test there, so we’ll need to bring our confidence and momentum from the past two weeks and build on it.”
The Knights have no new injury concerns ahead of the clash against a Kimberley side that are three points and three places (ninth) better off than them.
