Tigers face trip to Newark in FA Vase

Holbeach United will travel to Newark Town in the first qualifying round of the FA Vase on Saturday, August 26.

The Tigers are one of only seven clubs to have competed in all 50 competitions since the Vase replaced the FA Amateur Cup in 1974.
They have lost their opening ties for the past three seasons but have reached the last 16 on two occasions.
Holbeach open their Thurlow Nunn League Division One north season at home to Cornard United and complete the campaign on April 20 with a long trip to newcomers Stanway Pegasus, near Colchester in Essex.
They warmed up in style with two good wins in their latest friendlies.
Connor Pilbeam grabbed a hat-trick in a 6-0 win against Deeping Rangers last Wednesday, with Kyle Compton, Ryan Cook and George Frost also on target. John Yambasu scored one of the goals in Saturday’s 2-0 win at Yaxley.
The pre-season action continued last night against Stanground, with Boston Town the visitors to Carters Park on Saturday.
Squad-wise, George Frost is the latest to put pen to paper and manager Danny Clifton said: “It’s fantastic news that we’ve got Frosty again.
“He is an exciting talent and I can’t wait to see his progress continue.”
