Thirds run riot with 13 to sink ‘unlucky’ Town

Spalding Ladies 3rd 13
Wisbech Town 5th 0

An impressive team display saw Spalding grab 13 unanswered goals.
Player of the match Khloe Brewster swept home the first after a composed dribble and pass by Millie Baker. Isla Worrall doubling the advantage six minutes later and a scramble in the D gave Sam Foston her opener before Lucy McClements grabbed a quick brace.
Eloise Hull pushed forward from left back to slam home an exceptional finish and an incisive through ball by Terri Robinson allowed the unmarked Brewster to slot in another one.
Jess Worth made it 8-0 at half-time and another fine cross from Jessica Pilgrim saw Foston grab her second.
Brewster followed it up with her hat-trick and got a fourth from a penalty corner.
Eloise Doughty tapped in the 12th and in the dying minutes Sam Foston took advantage of a defensive mix-up to complete her hat-trick.
Spalding Ladies 1st 0
Norwich Dragons 1st 6
Spalding put in a determined performance against a well-drilled Norwich side but the final scoreline did not reflect their work rate.
The visitors capitalised on set-piece opportunities, scoring twice from short corners in the first half.
Spalding gained control for stretches of the game but Dragons continued to make the most of their short-corner routines, adding more goals.
Honor Moore made several promising runs into the attacking circle, while Jess Ball and Cally Priestley worked tirelessly to share the player of the match honours.

St Neots 2nd 3
Spalding Ladies 2nd 3

Spalding dominated the first ten minutes but fell behind to two goals from long balls.
Grace Hodgett’s reverse cross was tapped in by a teammate to pull one back and they then had a penalty flick saved.
Steph Wilson linked with Kelly Tizzano to set up Vicky Worrall for the equaliser only for the hosts to go 3-2 up.
A wide long ball from Kate Amess reached Tizzano to set up the Spalding equaliser. Eliza Morris shared the player of the match award with the two-goal scorer.
