Word is spreading quickly about a social media account showcasing fantastic photographs of Lincolnshire skies.
The Twitter page, which was the idea of Surfleet resident Rachel Rodgers, has attracted more than 1,400 followers in just a month.
The inspiration for starting @LincsSkies came from a snap which she took on the way to work in Market Deeping one morning recently.
Rachel (44) said: “I’ve always liked taking photos of landscapes and I took one of the wind turbines at Deeping St Nicholas.
“That’s what gave me the idea to do it because I showed it to a few people at work who said it was really nice so I said ‘I think I’ll start a Lincs skies page on Twitter’.”
Rachel launched the page on March 7, labelling it “Dedicated to the wonderful big skies of Lincolnshire”.
It very quickly took off, with many people keen to use the page to share their images and hundreds of followers ‘liking’ submissions. So far Rachel has tweeted more than 800 scenes.
She said: “It’s been really nice to see the photos and share them. I think that’s why it has become so popular – people are pleased to contribute their pictures to be shared.”
Administration of the page is keeping Rachel busy during breaks at work and in the evenings.
She said: “It just keeps growing. It’s soon going to be difficult to manage it!”
