Teen banned after drug drive charge

A teen has admitted drug driving after being three times over the legal limit.

Archie Parkinson, 19, of Main Road, Deeping St Nicholas, appeared at Boston Magistrates Court.

Marie Stace, prosecuting, said he was stopped in St Johns Road, Spalding while driving his Honda CRV on October 20 and a blood analysis showed a reading of six micrograms of cannabis, the legal limit being two.

Mitigating, Philippa Chatterton said he had no previous convictions but admitted he had smoked cannabis earlier in the day and had not realised there was a zero tolerance approach to driving under the influence of drugs.

Parkinson was banned from driving for a year, fined £100 and ordered to pay a total of £119 in court costs and charges.
