Pupils have been inspired to “reach for the stars” after a week-long visit by Olympic swimmer Sophie Allen.
Lincolnshire girl Sophie, who was ranked fourth in the world in 2013, shared her story of success with all pupils at Pinchbeck East Primary School, before spending time in each classroom, answering children’s questions.
The 22-year-old even joined in a swimming lesson with one year group.
Head of school Teeny Vayro said: “We had been talking with the pupils about reaching for the stars so we used Sophie’s visit to show them how they really can achieve anything they set their minds to.
“It was such an amazing week. Sophie is a lovely person and was a real inspiration not only to the children but also the staff.”
