Sweet FA Cup trips for South Holland duo Spalding United and Holbeach United

Spalding United and Holbeach United both earned fine away wins in The Emirates FA Cup Preliminary Round on Saturday.

The Tulips were 3-0 victors at Bury Town to book a trip to Mickleover Sports in the next round, with Bradley Wells (2) and Andrew Wright notching for Dave Frecklington’s side.

Meanwhile, the Tigers picked up a 4-3 win at Kirkley & Pakefield thanks to strikes from Spencer Tinkler (18), Josh Ford (42 and 55) and Tyler Wright (45).

An away trip to Yaxley or Dereham awaits in the next round after they draw 4-4 on Saturday.

The next round ties will be played on September 3.

Elsewhere, there were contrasting fortunes for Pinchbeck United and Moulton Harrox in the ChormaSport PDFL Premier Division.

Defending champions Harrox were 2-1 winners at Ketton as Billy King and Martin Sandall bagged in the first half. They are now third in the standings.

Pinchbeck, meanwhile, slipped to a 2-1 home loss against Peterborough Sports Reserves.

Debutant Callum Clark notched for Pinchbeck to level the scores on 87 minutes, but a last-gasp winner cost Ian Dunn’s side dear.

That leaves the pre-season title favourites 12th in the early standings.

Both sides are in action on Tuesday night, with Pinchbeck visiting Crowland Town (6.30pm) and Moulton hosting Holbeach United Reserves (6.30pm).

Holbeach Reserves and Crowland played out a thriller on Saturday, with the Tigers winning 5-4 at Snowden Field.

In Division One, Sutton Bridge United remain top after a 7-3 win over Baston. Jake Lally (3), Ben Partridge (2), Liam Burton and Kurt Scott got the goals to make it five wins from five.

A hat-trick from Declan Earth fired Moulton Harrox Reserves to a 4-0 win at King’s Cliffe, with John Ball also on target.

Long Sutton Athletic, meanwhile, were held to a 1-1 home draw by Oundle Town as they once again failed to grab a maiden league win of the season.

Below them are Spalding United Reserve, who were thrashed 7-0 at home by Glinton and Northborough. They already have a goal difference of -32 after just four games and sit bottom.
