Sutton St Edmunds residents urged to keep windows closed as four fire crews battle field blaze

Sutton St Edmunds residents are being asked to keep their windows closed due to a large fire near the village.

Four fire crews are in attendance at the blaze in Church Street reported at 8pm this evening (Sunday July 24).

A spokesman for Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue said: ”Crews from Long Sutton, Holbeach, Spalding and Crowland are in attendance at Chapel Road, Sutton St Edmunds at a field on fire.

“Crews are using hose reels, beaters and farm machinery to extinguish. Please keep doors & windows shut.”
