Sutton Bridge Golf Club’s men marched on in the Mail On Sunday Classic with a fine 3-2 win at Royal West Norfolk Golf Club in the second round.
The tie was all square after four matches, until Sid Warner came in with a 1up win by halving the 18th. There were also good wins for John Caney (5&4) and Steen Catlow (4&3), while Mike Bell lost 5&3 and Peter Warner lost 1 down.
- Leigh Chapman is the new head greenkeeper at Sutton Bridge. He succeeds long-serving Andrew Norton, who has done a sterling job over the years. Norton will stay on to provide support for Leigh, leaving Bridge with two experience staff for the foreseeable future.
