There looks to be no stopping Long Sutton in Rutland League Division Four East.
Sutton made it eight wins from as many games by easing to a nine-wicket victory over rivals Wisbech Town 2nd at Paradise Field on Sunday.
Having bowled out their visitors for 159 with three wickets apiece from Adam Whitaker (3-25) and Beau Newman (3-10), Sutton eased to 165-1 in reply as Dan Oldfield (88 not out) and Paul Edgeller (49 not out) delivered the goods.
Only three players made noteworthy contributions for Wisbech, with Tom Buck (55), Lewis Jackson (70) and Ali Anthony (22) impressing.
Sutton lost Raj Sangha (28) in their reply, but Oldfield and Edgeller were in no mood to mess around.
The pair eased Sutton to victory in the 24th over, moving them 31 points clear at the summit. They host Orton Park on Sunday (1pm).
Elsewhere, Chris Dring (63) and Brandon Andrews (43) scored well in Spalding Town’s 177 against Nassington (178-7) in Division Three – but they lost by three wickets.
Back in Four East, Moulton Harrox 2nd (117) lost by two wickets against Werrington 2nd (118-8) despite figures of 3-23 from Jake Morton.
