Successful camp as tennis makes return

Last Tuesday saw Spalding Town Tennis Club return to the court as they held an Easter Camp for juniors.

Run by club coaches Glenn Perkins and Ellie Blackbourn, the event was a success with 18 participants of all abilities attending the Holyrood Walk camp.

The day, which benefitted from sunny weather, consisted of tennis-based drills, games and match play, before finishing off with a whole group game of tennis rounders – which was enjoyed by all.

This was one of the first group sporting events held in South Holland following the lifting of the suspension of all activities due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

However, following the updated Government guidelines, the club plans to run junior camps in the upcoming May half-term and summer holidays, as well as the ongoing weekly coaching sessions.
