Spalding Men 1s 0
Men’s East League Division One North leaders Cambridge ensured Spalding remained winless with an emphatic victory.
The visitors faced an uphill task after only two minutes when Jacob Baker got a ten-minute yellow.
Despite that early disadvantage, Spalding fought well and were only three goals down at the break.
Spalding started the second half well and continued to defend the home onslaught.
However, the students started stringing some good play together and, despite some superb saves from man of the match Oscar Haunch, scored six more goals.

Ely City 2s 3
Spalding hit back from behind to pick up a point from their Three North West match at Surfleet.
Ely started strongest with Spalding sluggish as their new players took time to settle. The visitors went ahead in the opening minutes but Spalding slowly worked their way back and, after a couple short corners, Harry Walsh’s drag flick found the bottom corner to level.
Ely snatched a second goal to head into the break 2-1 up and went two goals clear early in the second half.
Spalding built some strong attacking plays, creating chances and were rewarded with a slick move finished off by Tim Maltby.
Heading into the last five minutes, Maltby grabbed a second to level things.
Spalding Men 3s 2
Bourne Deeping 2s 1
Spalding stayed within three points of the top of the Division Four North West table, despite fielding a depleted side.
A well-drilled and younger Bourne Deeping side worked hard and it was goalless at the break, mainly thanks to some good saves from Rob Callaby in the home goal.
Bourne took the lead ten minutes into the second half but Spalding responded well. They won some short corners and from one the ball was recycled and Matt Hicks slotted home.
The decisive goal came with ten minutes to go when Ben Scholes burst through and sent the ball over the line.
Spalding continued to defend well and saw out the game to defeat their previously unbeaten rivals.

Long Sutton 3s 2
A tight Division Five North West local derby went in favour of the visitors to Glen Park, Surfleet.
The game was a tight battle throughout, with both teams creating opportunities. However, Spalding struggled to convert theirs and ultimately fell short.
Long Sutton went ahead in the first half and, despite Spalding pressing hard after the break, they failed to capitalise on their chances and Sutton secured the points with another goal midway through the half.
Defender Marco Mendoza was the home man of the match award.
