Students are ‘the best at being bad’

Step into the streets of prohibition era New York City and meet rival mob bosses Fat Sam and Dandy Dan, struggling boxing promotor Bugsy Malone, a whole host of other colourful characters and splurge guns!.

Students from Spalding Grammar School are bringing gangster spoof Bugsy Malone to the stage.

They are backed by a live orchestra, pupils invite you to their literally all singing, all dancing production this evening and Friday, March 6, starting at 7pm (doors open 6.30pm) in Spalding Grammar School’s main hall.

The performers on stage are all pupils of both Spalding Grammar and High Schools, as are the backstage crews – props, lighting, sound and supporting jobs are all done by students.

Director of music at Spalding Grammar School, Alex Howman, said: “We are so excited to perform Bugsy Malone for you, and invite everyone to come along and enjoy it, whether or not you have connections with the school.

Everyone – on stage and off – has shown such dedication and determination to put on the best possible show.

“We have all school years involved, from Year Seven to Year 13 and I am immensely proud of the effort everyone has put in. So do come along and enjoy the show!’

Tickets cost £8 for adults and £6 for those aged 16 and under.
