Spalding resident in court over fuel thefts totalling £6,964

A Spalding resident is accused of a string of fuel thefts to the total value of £6,964.86.

Guntis Augucevics (30), of Aldrin Close, is charged with four counts of theft of fuel belonging to Jill Marsh, from Ulceby in Lincolnshire, on consecutive nights between March 2 and March 5 this year.

He is further accused of having an article for use in the course of, or in connection with, theft, namely a large fuel tank in the rear of a vehicle. This is said to have been at Ulceby Cross on March 23, the day after an alleged further fuel theft to the value of £945.23, also belonging to Jill Marsh.

Augucevics appeared at Skegness Magistrates’ Court on September 20. The case was adjourned to October 5 for a Latvian interpreter to be present. The defendant is on unconditional bail.
