Spalding play area to be improved by Anglian Water during summer closure

A Spalding play area is to be closed throughout the summer for Anglian Water works – but will then be upgraded with all new equipment.

The facility next to the junction of Pinchbeck Road and Woolram Wygate has been fenced off and will remain closed until September.
The closure will allow the installation of an underground rainwater storage tank to alleviate flooding issues in Fairview Way.
An Anglian Water spokesperson said: “We are very sorry for any disruption caused by the closure of the play area.
“We will be working to install the underground rainwater storage tank as quickly as possible and we are pleased to be replacing the play facilities.

“Although the play area will be closed during the summer holidays we hope that ultimately the local community will see the long-term benefits of the scheme – reducing the risk of flooding for homes in the area and children getting a brand new play area.”

Extra equipment, including a roundabout, will be added. Fairview Way is due to be closed until Friday, May 12, for the works.
