Spalding man detained after admitting perverting course of justice

A Spalding man has been remanded into custody after he admitted perverting the course of public justice and offences against two different women.

Thomas Parr, 25, of Pinchbeck Road, Spalding, pleaded guilty to four charges when he appeared at Lincoln Crown Court today (Monday).

Parr pleaded guilty to doing an act intended to pervert the course of public justice on August 13 this year by seeking to persuade a victim in a criminal investigation to withdraw a complaint.

He also admitted a second charge of coercive or controlling behaviour towards the same victim between June 1 and August 12, 2023, by putting her in fear that violence would be used on two occasions.

The court heard Parr also admitted a third charge of racially aggravated harassment, alarm or distress against a second woman on August 13, 2023.

Parr also admitted a charge of stealing a pedal cycle on the same day.

Neil Sands, defending Parr, said the defendant wanted to know his fate and asked for him to be sentenced as soon as possible.

But District Judge Kevin Grego said sentence would have to be adjourned for impact statements to be taken from the two victims and for the consideration of a restraining order on Parr.

Parr was remanded into custody by District Judge Grego until he is sentenced at Lincoln Crown Court.
