Spalding Kickers and bank raise grand sum

Spalding Kickers Taekwondo have teamed up with Lloyds Bank to raise more than £1,000 for Children In Need.

The Kickers invited Lloyds Bank staff for a special taekwondo training session at Spalding’s Castle Sports Complex, with all proceeds going to charity.
Kay Temple, who has worked for Lloyds Bank for 36 years, organised the event and was joined by senior branch manager Mike King and his staff.

During the training session they were able to try their hand at both kicking and punching, using kick shields, focus mitts, paddles and break boards – all of which were provided by Spalding Kickers.

King said: “It’s fantastic that we raised over £1,000 in our first fundraising event of the year for a great charity.
“A big thank you to all our customers in both Holbeach and Spalding who generously bought our cakes and to those who took part in the Taekwondo event – a lot of fun was had by all.”

Temple added: “Children In Need is this year’s chosen charity by Lloyds Bank – in which cake sales nationally, including Lloyds Bank match giving, has raised a total of £25,283.96.
“I would also like to thank the Castle Sports Complex for giving us free use of the hall for this great cause.”
