Spalding Indoor Bowls Club’s Harry in dominant form en-route to Stamford success

Spalding Indoor Bowls Club’s Harry Mycock impressed as he became Stamford under-18 Open Champion last Sunday.

The format consisted of four round robin matches of eight ends, with the winner of each group to take their place in the final.

Mycock was drawn in a good competitive group consisting of players from Barwell, Huntingdon and Melton.

He played exceptionally well in the round robin group stages to win all four games and progress to the final.

In the final, he played Melton’s Alex Warrington. Both players conducted themselves really well and both produced some excellent bowls.

However, Mycock proved too good on the day and established an early lead before winning the final 10-1 with an end to spare.
