Spalding Golf Club ace James Crampton has won the 2022 European Seniors’ Championship.
Crampton entered the final day with a three-shot lead, having been the only player to card two scores under-par in the opening two rounds at Pärnu Bay Golf Links, Estonia.
South Holland star Crampton shot 71 in his first round, before improving to a 69 in his second round.
He finished with a 75, making his total for the event a one-under-par 215.
In the final round, Sweden’s Mattias Pernheden was Crampton’s biggest challenger.
Pernheden, the 2019 champion, made four birdies early in the round, but a quadruple-bogey eight on the 9th hole ended his challenge.
The Swede Mwas ultimately awarded the silver medal on a score of +2, three shots behind Crampton, with England’s Edward Richardson sealing the bronze on +3.
In the Ladies’ Championship, Sue Wooster claimed the title.
The Australian player took an early lead over the field after an opening round score of 75 (+3).
Wooster started day two with one birdie and continued to lead the second day with another score of 75 (+3).
In the final round, the Australian carded one birdie on the 17th hole to finish with a third 75, the lowest score of the day, and claim the title by eight strokes on a total of +9.
Denmark’s Lotte Greve was awarded the silver medal with a total of +17, and Sweden’s Anna Lunding secued the bronze on +18.
