South Lincs Competitive Swimming Club members shine at Tulip Open meet as duo claim top prizes

Members of South Lincs Competitive Swimming Club picked up new personal best (PB) times and medals galore as they competed at their own Tulip Open meet.

The event, which was held at Spalding’s Castle Sports Complex and sponsored by Bakkavor, showcased multiple fine displays of swimming from those in attendance.

A huge number of South Lincs swimmers were in the pool over the weekend, doing the Spalding-based club proud.

Lillie Hamilton collected medals of all colours, including a hat-trick of gold medals in the 100m breaststroke (PB), 200m breaststroke (PB) and the 200m IM.

There were also silver medals in the 100m and 200m butterfly (both PBs) and a bronze in the 200m freestyle.

Aidan Evans topped the podium in the 200m butterfly and also collected six bronze medals in the 200m freestyle, 200m breaststroke, 200m IM, 50m backstroke (PB), 100m backstroke (PB) and 200m backstroke (PB).

Team-mate Will Vere collected a brace of bronze medals in the 200m breaststroke and 200m backstroke, while Daniela Bringeman collected six medals – including a hat-trick of silver medals in her preferred breaststroke events the 200m, 100m and 50m (PB).

Sigourney Bolton won a treble of silvers in the 200m, 100m and 50m (PB) breaststroke and also won bronze in her first-ever 100m butterfly event and in the 100m backstroke (PB).

Kitty Lamb was in fine form over the weekend as she set nine PBs en-route to collecting an awesome 11 gold medals from as many races.

Among her highlights was a four-second PB in the 200m breaststroke, a six-second drop in the 200m and breaking the 70-second barrier for the first time in the 100m freestyle.

Meanwhile, Sophie Wilson struck gold in the 200m backstroke and added a hat-trick of bronze medals to her personal haul in the 200m freestyle, the 200m IM and the 200m butterfly.

Lucy Wilson collected no fewer than seven medals over the course of the weekend.

She swam to silvers in the 200m freestyle (PB), 100m freestyle, 100m butterfly and 200m butterfly, as well as bronze medals in the 50m butterfly (PB), the 200m breaststroke (PB) and the 200m IM.

Charlie Bisby also found some fine form over the weekend as he claimed no fewer than ten gold medals and two silver medals from his 12 events, clocking 11 PBs in the process.

His highlights included a 17-second PB in the 200m breaststroke, a seven-second best in the 200m backstroke and a five-second improvement in the 200m freestyle.

Andre Ubaviciute marked her return to competitive swimming with gold in the 100m breaststroke, silver in the 100m freestyle (PB), 200m freestyle and 200m breaststroke, plus a 50m freestyle bronze.

Another on-song was Charlotte Ciuberkyte, who won a hat-trick of medals over the weekend. She took silver medals in both the 50m and 100m breaststroke, plus a stunning PB swim to get bronze in the 200m IM.

Elsewhere, Lexie Hamilton couldn’t stop setting new PB times over the weekend and was duly rewarded with a hat-trick of medals.

She took silver in the 100m backstroke and collected bronze medals in the 200m freestyle and the 200m backstroke.

Kieran Ng won no fewer than eight silver medals over the weekend, including new PB times in the 50m freestyle, the 50m breaststroke, the 100m butterfly, the 200m backstroke and the 200m IM. There was also a bronze medal in the 100m freestyle.

Lilli Bowman stormed to victory in the 200m freestyle with a fantastic PB and collected silver medals in the 50m breaststroke and the 200m backstroke (PB).

There were a further five bronze medals for her, including in her first-ever attempt at the 200m butterfly.

Another having a successful weekend was Stefano Fiore, with a host of new PB times being set and a haul of medals won.

He struck gold in the 200 breaststroke (PB), collected seven silver medals including a big 100m breaststroke PB and also took bronze in the 200m freestyle (PB).

Also shining was Frank Lamb with an amazng nine gold medals and three silvers from his 12 events.

Most notable were his golds in the 50m freestyle and 50m breaststroke with great new PB times, while he also set a new best in the 100m freestyle for silver.

Hannah Bruce also won a medal in every event she contested, taking gold in both the 200m freestyle and the 200m IM.

Silver medals followed in the 50m and 100m freestyle and the 100 and 200m butterfly (PB), as did a bronze in the 50m butterfly (PB).

Matteo Monaco, meanwhile, won a hat-trick of gold medals in both the 50m (PB) and 100m backstroke as well as the 100m freestyle (PB).

A silver followed, also in a PB time, in the 50m butterfly.

Susannah Poll was competing in only her second competition – but that didn’t stop her winning a hat-trick of medals.

She stormed to victory in the 50m breaststroke (PB) and added silvers in the 50m freestyle and the 100m breaststroke.

Sophia Shackleston contested eight events over the weekend and set big new PB times in all of her swims.

There was a silver for her in the 200m breaststroke, while she struck bronze in both the 50m and 100m breaststroke events.

Kieran Lucy produced a fine swim for bronze in the 100m freestyle and set a big new PB to claim his first medal with the club.

He also set a new PB time in the 50m backstroke.

More medals followed for South Lincs as Francesco Monaco collected a haul of seven gold and one silver.

He dropped more than three seconds for a new PB in the 200m IM and also lowered his best time by more than two seconds in the 100m breaststroke.

There was a hat-trick of medals for young Aaron Sadler, too. He showed his butterfly prowess to clain claim bronze medals in both the 50m (PB) and 100m (PB), then stormed to the silver medal in the 200m with a big new PB.

Isaac Bowman went two better as he racked up five medals over the weekend.

He struck silver in both the 100m freestyle and the 200m IM, the latter in a PB of more than 20 seconds.

Bowman also took three bronze medals in PB times, as he came third in the 200m freestyle, 200m backstroke and in his first 100m butterfly.
Another taking five medals was Emily Briggs, with all coming in PB times.
There was silver in the 200m backstroke and the 50m backstroke, while also taking home three bronze medals in the 100m backstroke and both the 100m and 200m butterfly.
Likewise, Lucie Lund picked up no fewer than five gold medals.
Golds came in the 200m butterfly (PB), the 50m butterfly, 100m butterfly, 100m backstroke and 200m backstroke. Not done there, she also collected silver in the 50m backstroke (PB).
Young Heidi Woodrow was also a medalist, taking a bronze medal in the 50m butterfly with a new PB.
Finally, Jess Herriott was in great form as she set new PB times in all of the events she contested.
The pick of her swims saw her collect a pair of silver medals in both the 100m and 200m backstroke.
To round out the weekend of competition, Charlie Bisby and Kitty Lamb were presented with the trophies for Top Junior Boy and Top Junior Girl respectively.
Justin Noble and Vita Kezixa, of Bakkavor, who are the principal sponsors of South Lincs, awarded the trophies to both swimmers.
