South Holland foursome quids in at Spalding Golf Club AM-AM

Four South Holland players teamed up to win the popular Spring AM-AM competition hosted by Spalding Golf Club ladies’ section.

Theresa Starbuck and Debra Ward (Spalding) and Gedney Hill Golf Club’s Lynn Exley and Chris Bennett took top spot at Surfleet – and each collected £65 in prize money.

The day attracted a good field of ladies from many clubs and the weather was kind, with no rain. Although the course was in excellent condition, tricky pin positions made low scoring very difficult for the teams.

The format was four-ball better ball on 3/4 handicap, with two scores to count on each hole except the fourth, ninth, tenth and 17th – where all four players’ scores counted. There were five prizes dished out, with scores ranging from 69 to 75.

Spalding’s thanks go to competitions secretary Hannah Thorold, Milly Thorold, the raffle ticket sellers and to those who donated prizes.

Presentations were made by lady captain Chris Vickers.
