South Holland Centre to go booking fee free

The South Holland Centre in Spalding will scrap its online booking fee when it updates its ticketing systems later this month.

Currently, there is a £1.50 fee applied to tickets booked online but this will be removed after the system changeover.

To implement the change, the box office ticketing service will be unavailable for two days for all sales, whether online, in person or over the phone. This will take place on Monday, September 24 and Tuesday September 25.

Andrea Tait, marketing and retail manager at The South Holland Centre, said of the new service, which goes live on September 26: “As more people are booking online these days, we’re really pleased with the modernising of our ticketing system which will have the added benefit of no online booking fees, bringing it in line with all other booking methods.”

The statement said the upgraded system will offer an expanded range of services, including individual account set-up, options to pick payment card memory, the option to print tickets at home, and the continued ability to select the seats you want from the online plan.

The decision to remove the online booking fees makes buying tickets the same across all channels, the statement said.

The Centre has urged customers wanting to book for shows around the end of the month to book now. The statement said: “Please plan ahead if you want tickets for shows in late September particularly, and buy before midnight on Sunday, September 23.

“We apologise for any inconvenience during that week but we will be up and running, raring to go for ACT II’s production of Hairspray starting on Wednesday, September 26, and on Friday, September 28, another brilliant evening from Funhouse Comedy.”
