South Holland Business Awards: more entries being encouraged

Entries to the annual South Holland Business Awards are being encouraged after a slow start.

More than two-thirds of sponsorship opportunities for this year’s event have been snapped up by local businesses.
Now Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce, which launched the 2016 awards in June, is urging firms to submit their entries for the event on Thursday, November 24.

Phil Scarlett, president of Spalding and District Area Chamber, said: “We have received a good number of enquiries for application details but as yet not a big response in entries.
“It is, however, still early.”

He added: “It’s wonderful to see so many local firms throwing their support behind the awards.
“Of course, sponsors receive a marketing package in the run-up to the awards and on the night itself – but their support runs so much deeper; they’re committed to recognising and rewarding local talent in the local business community – and that’s priceless.”

Local businesses already offering sponsorship are:

  • Business of the Year – Butters Group
  • Apprentice of the Year – University Academy Holbeach
  • Community Award –Definitions Health & Fitness
  • Customer Care Award – Ringrose Law Solicitors
  • Business Innovation of the Year – Duncan & Toplis Chartered Accountants sponsoring
  • Programme Sponsor of the Year – Newton Press

Mr Scarlett said: “We could not deliver the awards without the help of our sponsors, so my thanks goes out to each and every one of them.”

Remaining sponsorship packages are:

  • Business Person of the Year
  • New and/or small business of the Year
  • drinks reception

For the second year running PSP IT Design & Development will be the headline sponsor.

The Pinchbeck firm is responsible for developing and launching the award’s brand new website www.shb-awards.co.uk, which for the first time includes insights into previous winners, downloadable application forms, hints and tips about what the judges are looking for, plus the chance to buy tickets to the ceremony.

PSP chief executive Joe Verde said: “As headline sponsor we are passionate about supporting our local business community.
“As a sponsor I think it’s really important to champion local success stories, and support the business community you are part of. For PSP IT Design & Development, it’s a way of giving something back.”
