On-song Holbeach A veteran Pinner makes another top ton billiards break

Just two weeks after pocketing a stunning 139 break, Hugh Pinner was at it again in the Spalding and District Billiards League on Monday.

The 80-year-old, who plays off an O170 handicap, made a super 124 break as his Holbeach A side thrashed rivals Holbeach B 7-0.

Team-mate Alan Yardley (R20) also chipped in with breaks of 33 and 32.

Elsewhere, Long Sutton are now four points clear at the top after they defeated Gosberton B 5-2. John Dawson (O30) and Mick Cooper (O80) both made 42 breaks in that win for the champions.

More big breaks came in Consti B’s 5-2 win over Crowland B.

Mick Johnson’s (O170) scores of 37, 36, 32 and 31 helped him win the decisive final frame.

Earlier in the game, Rob Childs (O210) made a 52 break but lost to John Keeton (R30).

Pyramid A were big winners over Donington as they recorded a 7-0 whitewash. Eric Wyer (R50) made breaks of 26 and 24 for the Bourne side. Also 7-0 winners were Consti A at Gosberton A, as Lindsay Porter (R50) made a 25 break.

Consti C’s 5-2 success over Pyramid B rounded off the week.
