Solid stuff from G&S Kawasaki trio at Silverstone as Milo agrees new deal

The three G&S Racing Kawasaki racers were all on solid form for the Wyberton team at Silverstone.

Tom Fisher had three races to contest in the Superstock 1000 Championship, while Milo Ward and Ben Luxton were both riding in the Pirelli National Superstock 600 race.

Fisher made some big steps forward again, but was hampered by a wet qualifying session where he finished in 26th place in the slippery conditions.

He began the first of two races on Saturday from the ninth row and rode well to complete the 24 laps in 21st place.

There was a short break to allow for refuelling and a tyre change before the second race got under way.

This time he started from the seventh row and was able to make progress through the highly competitive field to finish in 20th place.

The final race took place on Sunday, with Fisher once again starting from the ninth row.

He got away well at the start and had made up places when the red flag brought the race to a halt after just six laps.

At the restart over 15 laps, Fisher again began to make up places and crossed the finish line in 23rd place.

In the Superstock 600, class both Ward and Luxton were in the thick of the action throughout the 22 lap affair.

The race was won by Ryan Vickers, who by doing so has clinched the 2018 title. But the battle was on between seven riders all fighting over second place in the race.

Places were exchanged within the group throughout the race, with Luxton running in second place for a number of laps with Ward only a fraction of a second behind him.

At the end of a hectic 22 laps Ward crossed the finish line in fifth place and Luxton was seventh, with all riders within the group saying it was the best race they had ever experienced.

Ward is now in fourth place in the rider standings on 103 points while Luxton is 10th on 58.

Team Manager Mark Fisher said:”That was a busy and productive weekend for the team. I have to thank BSB for providing us with a garage this weekend and it has certainly been an asset to us.

“Tom has ridden well this weekend, it has been a busy few days for him with three races but he has completed them all and in the highly competitive Superstock 1000 class he produced some good results.

“Considering Milo was carrying an injury to his leg from a non race related incident he did very well to finish his race in fifth place. The stock 600 race was fantastic to watch with seven riders all squabbling over second place.

“It was an epic battle and any one of them could have been on the podium. Ben is growing in confidence with every race and rode really well this weekend again. I must congratulate Ryan Vickers for clinching the title. He thoroughly deserved it as he has hardly put a foot wrong all season.

“I would also like to announce that we have signed Milo to ride for G&S Racing Kawasaki in the Superstock 1000 class next year and will be announcing another signing in the next few weeks.”

The next round is at Oulton Park this weekend.
