The last remaining unbeaten record in the Spalding and District Snooker League was finally smashed on Thursday night as Division One title hopefuls Pyramid B were defeated by Services E.
After winning their opening ten games of the season, the Bourne side finally succumbed to a 4-2 home reverse against a fourth-placed Services side that showcased their own title credentials.
Spencer Dawkins (O49) and Alfonso Palumbo (O49) made breaks of 25 and 22 respectively, but wins from Vince Fitter (O28), Chris Dunmore (O7) and Phil Spencer (O14) knocked Pyramid off the top.
Taking advantage of that slip up were Bourne SC A, who shot to the top of the table with a 6-0 victory over Services F.
They are now two points clear at the summit, but Pyramid do have a game in hand on all of their rivals.
Third-placed Holbeach A slipped to a 4-2 defeat at Services C as Kevin Fitter (O21) won a crucial final frame against Neal Jackson (O14) on the final black.
Jem Merrison (O35) did impress with a 31 clearance for Holbeach, but it was in vain.
At the other end of the table, Consti F won the big basement battle as they beat hosts Tulips A 5-1.
Robert Adams (O14) starred with two frame wins and a break of 36 in that one, but Consti stay bottom.
Elsewhere, Mark Woodberry (O56) made a cool 32 break for Tulips B – but his side were beaten 4-2 at Holbeach C.
Sean Swinburn (O42) and Stuart Atkin (O49) also impressed with breaks of 34 and 32 respectively for Long Sutton A, only to see visitors Donington C leave with a 5-1 success.
In Division Two, leaders Boundary A have opened up a five-point advantage at the summit after their 5-1 triumph over Consti B.
Three of the frames in that clash went to the final black, while Andy Mowforth (O7) made a solid 21 break for the Deepings side.
With second-placed Consti G not in action, Gosberton A took the chance to close the gap on them with a maximum 6-0 success over Services B.
Jamie Mumby (R7) sank a 24 break for them as he set the tone with victory in the opening frame.
Meanwhile, Crowland B enjoyed a welcome 5-1 win over Boundary C to move four points clear of the foot.
Their star man was Jim Howe (O42), who bagged breaks of 24 and 21.
In Division Three, Long Sutton C returned to the top of the table with a 4-2 victory over Donington D.
A stellar showing from Susan Lefley (R21), who thrashed Colin Andrew (R21) in the first frame, was their highlight.
Fellow high-fliers Gosberton B also secured a 4-2 victory of their own at Services D.
Jack Craft (R7) sealed that victory with a black-ball success over Tanya Peel (O7) in the final frame.
The best break in Division Three came from Consti A’s Nick Savic (O49), who reeled off a fine 31 in a 4-2 triumph over Holbeach E.
Aaron Coe (R7) made a 23 break in the same match, while Ben Harding (O14) managed scores of 22 and 21.
The score was also 4-2 as Consti E picked up a win at Whittlesey B and Consti J saw off visitors Whittlesey A.
