The first champions of the Spalding and District Snooker League season were crowned last week as Long Sutton A wrapped up Division Two glory.
Their 4-2 victory at Consti H – a 21st success of the season from 29 games – gave them an unassailable lead at the top of the second tier and secured Division One snooker next season.
Behind them, the race for second place looks like going down to the wire.
Holbeach C are the current incumbents after they dispatched relegation-threatened Crowland C 5-1 on home territory.
Breaks of 24 and 22 from Mark Gregory (O14) and Paul Ashton (R14) respectively helped them move four points clear in second.
Long Sutton B slipped to a 4-2 home loss against Consti I and are now third, despite a 21 break from Carl Parnell (O35).
They remain level on points with fourth-placed Consti G, who went down by the same scoreline at Gosberton A.
Andy Grimwood’s (O7) 35 break was in vain for the promotion hopefuls, thanks to strong showings from Pete Waterfall (R21), Carl Wand (O7) and Jamie Mumby (R21).
That opened the door for Consti B, who are just five points off second spot following their 4-2 triumph at Services F.
Martin Fear (scr) settled that one in the final frame.
At the other end of the table, Pyramid C ended any lingering fears of relegation by beating Whittlesey C 5-1.
Andy Gebbie (R14) made a 21 break in that one.
Up in Division One, it remains advantage Tulips B after the top trio all picked up four-point hauls.
The leaders were 4-2 victors at Boundary A thanks to frame wins from Joe Garland (scr), Mark Woodberry (O49) and Ady Sibly (O7).
Second-placed Holbeach A, who have played a game more, beat struggling Services C 4-2 to stay four points behind the leaders.
This one went to the death, with Mick Ayres (O7) defeating Nigel Cherry (O14) 54-50 on the final black to get Holbeach over the line.
A further two points back are Donington C, who remain in the hunt after beating Pyramid A 4-2.
Young gun Ben Wrigglesworth (O21) sank a 23 break in that one.
Fourth-placed Holbeach D beat Services E 5-1 to move within nine points of the lead, despite breaks of 29 and 20 from Craig Fitter (O56).
In Division Three, Crowland A beat third-placed Donington B 4-2 to close in on the title.
They are guaranteed promotion now, but just three more points from their last two games will secure them the title.
Second-placed Long Sutton C continue to hobble towards the finishing line.
They lost 4-2 at Consti A as Nigel Steadman (R7) beat Keith Wells (O28) in the final frame, but remain favourites for the runners-up spot.
Fourth-placed Services B also slipped up, going down 4-2 at home to Gosberton C.
That allowed Services D, who thrashed Whittlesey B 5-1, to move level with them and within four points of a promotion place.
